7 Tips in 7 Days – Day 5 Practice Barefoot for Better Balance

The secret to a solid consistent swing is being able to maintain good balance throughout.
Have you ever noticed those days on the course when it all seems so easy, the slower you swing the further the ball seems to travel. Well, I’m willing to bet that the amazing timing you are experiencing is due to nice consistent balance.
Recently, during a lesson with my local Coaching Pro I was asked to remove my shoes and hit some shots. I thought it was odd at first but I went along with it. To my surprise during my swing I was clawing at the ground with my toes as my weight wasn’t positioned correctly. I was totally unaware of this and after a few slight adjustments my balance improved dramatically.
This is just one example of the importance of the feet in relation to our golf swing. So next time you’re at the range remove your shoes, hit a few shots and hopefully improve your game.
